General Care
A few simple guidelines to follow:
- Following these guidelines will insure that you will be able to enjoy your jewelry for many years to come.
- It is important to remember while getting ready to wear your jewelry that you should wait to put it on after you are finished with everything else. Hair sprays, perfumes, lotions, and insect spray will damage a bead's finish.
- Do not wear your jewelry while in a swimming pool or any chlorinated water.
- Store jewelry out of direct sunlight as some stones may fade.
- Keep jewelry away from small children. Tugging could cause it to break and it is possible that this could cause a choking hazard.
- Plain water and a mild soap with complete rinsing followed by wiping completely with a soft cloth is preferable to clean your jewelry and make sure it is thoroughly dry before putting it away.
- Never clean pearls and gemstones with an ultra-sonic jewelry cleaner as it will ruin the finish.
- Storing your jewelry in the jewel box provided and also a plastic baggie will help keep naturally occurring tarnish at bay.
- Never wear your jewelry to bed or swimming or in the shower no matter how much you love it and don't want to take it off. Soap is abrasive to threads and will shorten the life of your jewelry.
